Ways to Learn

Looking to take your Artwork to the next level? Or need some one-on-one attention as you get introduced in a new medium? This is the perfect format of instruction for you, with no distractions and the ability to work at your own pace. You will get feedback, answers to all your questions, and receive the guidance you need to grow as an Artist. Available for the Painting mediums of Oil or Acrylic, or the Drawing mediums of Colored Pencil, Graphite, Pen & Ink, Watercolor Pencil, or Pastels. You will work towards creating your own Masterpieces with the guidance and support you need. Select the type of communication most comfortable, Video Chat or Phone Call. There is no project too small or goal too high!

$80.00 for either a single 1-hour session or two 30-minute sessions

Submit any work of Art, whether it is just taking shape or ready to cross the finish line, and get the feedback, and instruction needed to complete it. You will receive a document including Design, Use of Media, and Style assessments, and first impressions. Your email critique will also give you detailed, specific, and clear instructions on how to fix problem areas and make your masterpiece in the making, gallery ready. After receiving your assessment, the support continues as you have the opportunity to continue working on your Art and resubmit for two additional ‘Reviews’ to receive updated evaluations and additional instruction along the way. Submit pieces in the Painting mediums of Oil or Acrylic, or the Drawing mediums of Colored Pencil, Graphite, Pen & Ink, Watercolor Pencil, or Pastels.

$80.00 for Critique and two additional 'Reviews'

Join the party and grow as an Artist, while finding inspiration and encouragement from other Artists. Through Instructor led discussions gain the insights and receive the feedback to take your finished artwork, or works in progress, to the next level. During these informative and supportive sessions you will learn the vocabulary and theory by which all Art is assessed so you can understand and form insights about your own work and that of other Artists. Sessions are limited to 6 participants so each 'Feedback Party' is guaranteed to be small enough for everyone to have a chance to share their piece.  Submit pieces in any medium, Paintings, Drawings, Mixed Mediums and any mediums in between are welcome! Open to all skill levels.

There are specific things that have challenged Artist's throughout time. The quest for capturing a perfect eye, or making accurate perspective feel natural, or how to handle a smiling mouth...with teeth showing. These challenges continue to bog down Artists and get in the way of completing your next Masterpiece. Each session is conducted over Zoom, and will focus on a single challenge. Incorporating lively group discussions where questions are encouraged and clearly answered, the instructor gives you detailed directions on how to conquer the specific obstacle and demonstrates through digital media step by step to navigate these problem areas. Students will also receive a PDF document after the class including all the instructions and screen captures of the actual demonstration. Open to all skill levels and covering a wide range of topics, mediums, and genres. Spaces are limited.

Two of the most difficult challenges that faces Artists is capturing the Human Form and Perspective. So what do you do when these happen at the same time? We will be going over some simple approaches to create the illusion that a Figure is coming directly towards the Viewer, whether it is just a limb, both legs such as when your subject is sitting, or the whole body.

"Navigating: When Architecture Misbehaves"

Perspective is difficult enough when everything lines up, but how does an Artist cope when buildings crumble, the ground is uneven, or construction liberties have been taken?  Get suggestions and strategies to cope with all these crooked challenges. 

"Navigating: The Perfect Eye"

Take a tour of the Human Eye and learn the tips, tricks, and techniques to create dimensional and engaging eyes in paint or drawn. Demo done in digital paint but will include valuable information for all mediums.

"Navigating: Through the Clouds"

There are few things more poetic than a cloud floating through your landscape. Get some tips and tricks on how to tackle the Colors, Form, and Edges that will make your next Cloud bring more than just one silver lining to your masterpieces. 

"Navigating: Palm Trees"

Palm Trees are iconic of all that is tropical. If you have struggled to capture the grace of a palm swaying in the breeze or were baffled by the exotic shapes and form of a palm frond this is the help you've been looking for. So take a vacation from your challenges and learn how to capture these pillars of paradise.

Young talent has so much to offer. Support your budding Artist with professional guidance in creating and organizing a Portfolio for submission. Through private One-On-One instruction, tailored to each Artists interests and pace of learning, the process is made fun and exciting! Sessions cover core principles of Art, instruction on how to apply them directly in their Artwork, and an assignment designed to produce Portfolio required artwork. Through ongoing sessions students can send in the assignments to be assessed and discussed with the Instructor, develop necessary creative skills, and have an opportunity to engage with an Artist to ask questions about any aspect of the visual art process.

Making Art doesn't have to be complicated. There are simple and understandable steps any Artist at any skill level can follow to improve and build on to create meaningful works of Art. Sessions will allow an instructor to guide you, virtually looking over your shoulder as you work, to give you the guidance and corrections to tackle design, techniques, and creative challenges. You will be gaining new information while having an instructor right there on the front lines with you identifying shortcuts to take and dead ends to avoid. Work from photos on either a Drawing or Painting. Open to all skill levels.

Sometimes the most difficult challenge in creating a work of Art is figuring out where to start. Work one on one with a professional art Instructor to form a tangible approach to capture any work of Art you have been thinking of, hoping for, or even just daydreaming about. You will be walked through the process of planning your next Masterpiece covering the areas of Creative Inspiration, Materials, Design, and Artistic Intention. After an introductory correspondence to prepare you for your session, we will schedule a 30 minute Zoom session to discuss any and all topics needed to put you on the right path to bring your next Masterpiece into fruition. After your session you will receive an email outlining the specific steps to take going forward. Open to all skill levels. Mediums covered by the Instructor are the Painting mediums of Oil or Acrylic, or the Drawing mediums of Colored Pencil, Graphite, Pen & Ink, Watercolor Pencil, or Pastels.
